You Just Had to Enter!

You may recall the recent contest we had, giving away a painted Deathwatch Space Marine. Maybe you don't recall it, which is why you didn't enter. Either way, the bottom line is that everyone who entered...won. It was that simple!

This blog, which really just accompanies the podcast itself, has 94 followers. If all 94 followers had entered we would be in serious trouble! As it turns out, four of you entered, we just happened to have four spare, unpainted Deathwatch Space Marines lying around, so all four came out winners.

I believe the mix turned out to be a Librarian with Force Sword and Power Fist, an Assault marine with Jump Pack, Chain-axe, and scoped Bolt pistol, a Devastator marine with a Plasma Cannon, and a Tactical marine (I think) kitted out appropriately, so who gets what exactly? I don't know, but the following winners will be contacted soon about where to ship these figs off to.
  1. Eriochrome of the excellent Sons of Twilight blog
  2. Tristan of the equally excellent GW Pertinent blog
  3. Stewart, one of the hosts of Live by the Die, Die by the Die
  4. Señor Vosovic, who I can't seem to link to any blog
So congratulations to all of you. We will try to post some WiP shots here on the blog so you can see how your marines are shaping up before they ship out. Until next time!

Buncombe Inc.

The Board of Regents at Buncombe Inc.

As mentioned in episode 14, but not acted upon until now, here is the official blog-pimping of caption-contest winner, Señor Mencken. ¡Hola!, and congrats again Señor! His blog is well-written and, unlike this one, its posts actually contain thought-provoking commentary and other treatises upon which all manner of topics are given their due.

As his prize pack, The Señor receives dos paperback books; books one and two of the gritty, military sci-fi series known as Death's Head by David Gunn. In-your-face, feces-on-the-floor action novels are probably going to be an affront to his literary tastes, but variety is the spice of life! Why these novels have been signed by Minions of the Monster Master I'll never know, but for what it's worth, those aforementioned signatories have graced the pages of these paperbacks with encouraging words and congratulatory phrases. At the very least, this ensures you want be able to simply sell them to a used bookstore!

Minions Banner Button

How about a little MotMM goodness to garnish the side of the platter that is your own blog? With the directions below, you'll be able to add a banner button such as above to wherever you see fit. Never mind the fact that it spreads the word, it just plain looks cool!

Here you go:
  1. Right-click and save the above image
  2. On your blog's Dashboard go to "Layout"
  3. Click on "Add Gadget"
  4. Choose "Picture"
  5. Add the saved image from above
  6. Add the following information as the link:
  7. http://minionsofthemonstermaster.blogspot.com/
And voila, that's all it takes. The width of the image is 175pixels, but you can always edit this number in the HTML code if you like to make it larger or smaller. These are written for Blogger blogs of course, but they should be able to be modified to work with pretty much whatever blog service you fancy. As always, we thank you the readers for your support!

Miscellaneous for the Monster Master!

Stay tuned for brand new weekly features!

Lobster Johnson by Mignola

Media for the Monster Master:
Biscuit is going to start posting a weekly art feature. They might be doodles or rough sketches out of his notebooks, or completed pieces he's worked over in photoshop. Sometimes they'll directly relate to the games we're playing, or just be out of left field.

Clutch in concert

Music for the Monster Master:
Duck Sauce is going to post a weekly snippet covering some facet of music. To his own admission this will most likely be the stoner rock genre, but who knows, yodeling might make it in here as well. This could include album reviews, industry news, and the like.

Metropolis

Megabytes for the Monster Master:

Americano is always on the cutting edge of the latest tech gadgets, and he is an admitted Apple fan boy. He's always ready to give in his two cents on whatever subject is at the fore of current events too. So his weekly feature will focus on either a rant of some type, or a look at some tidbit of techno wonder. Or maybe both, I'm sure he'll surprise us.

Munchies for the Monster Master:
Rounding out our weekly features here at the Minions' blog will be T-Bone and his wonderful world of culinary arts. He may give us recipes, reviews, tips, and the like. Who knows, but whatever it ends up being, it will center around our great love of both food and drink. So warm up your whisks, pour a frosty brew, and gird your loins.

edit: feature name changes thanks to Duck Sauce!

Feed Down

If you happen to notice that the podcast feed is having problems, that's because the server it is on is actually having some issues. Hopefully, this will be corrected in the next few days.

Welcome!

Pack your bags for a three hour tour...

You've made it this far, welcome aboard to the Minions of the Monster Master! This is the obligatory accompanying blog to the most unlikely, irregular, and irreverent podcast about gaming ever spawned We're all thirty-something gamers with an unhealthy penchant for the inane and a real love for a plethora of games; mainstream, indie, homebrew, tabletop miniatures, roleplaying, sci-fi, fantasy, historical, pulp, and beyond!
