With Some Delay; Episodes 57 & 58
These have been posted for some time, but as Duck Sauce so poignantly stated, the social media officer (Gyro) is falling down on the job! I just listened to episode #58, it's a fun one for sure and it's pretty much just table chat and some award-winning Around the Horn. Episode #57 is, and I can't be for certain, the last Mass Effect RPG we did using the Rogue Space rules. Also good stuff...if what's recorded is what I think it is.
We do have some new stuff cooking, we'll keep you in the loop on that shortly. Until then, rock on!

Good work guys, awesome to see ya back
ReplyDeleteThanks Stewart! It's good to be back! I think the ball is rolling for 2013 for sure!
DeleteThat unboxing of Star Frontiers was a bit tense for me. The last boxed set of that I'd acquired (similarly, I might add), I opened to horror. Thankfully the Yazirians were still fine, but about everything else had to get binned.
ReplyDeleteLead rot is pain.
#57 had a few words regarding Mass Effect, however it wasn't played, nor in #58. No worries there, but it'd be cool to see where else it might have gone.
Star Frontiers would be pretty ace. Haven't gotten to play that one in years, myself.
I thought Duck Sauce was joking at first! Guess I should count myself lucky then!
DeleteWe specifically address your Mass Effect comments in episode 60 (as of this writing it's yet to air). Suffice it to say Mass Effect may have some life left in it yet!
Oh, very lucky indeed. 'Cause once the blight first shows up on the old lead, there's no saving it. It rots from the inside, and is virtually impossible to dislodge. The Star Frontiers and a lot of early Games Workshop figures are the worse offenders for this affliction. White metal mixes make it pretty rare these days.
DeleteThe whole deal is caused from exposure to acidic woods, like pine, various plastics, and notably the aerosols released from the packing foam they used to use for miniatures (the blue kind). It's like a specialized form of rust, but the dust created is toxic (even by lead's standards). And it's contagious to healthy lead. Best way to avoid it is to seal, prime, or paint the figures ASAP.
