Thank you to Great White Snark* for this easy-to-read venn diagram explaining the difference between geeks, nerds and dorks.

  1. For years I've considered myself a geek and shied away from other terms like 'dork' and 'nerd', now I have proof as to why.

Nice to see a post from you too T-Bone...

  2. It hasn't been that long since I've posted something.

  3. Isn't it "snark," not "shark?"

  4. That it is, and thanks to you it's now fixed!

  5. My bad.

I would also point out that "intelligence" may not be the right term, since intelligence is made up of many different brain functions. Certainly most gamers are analytical and creative, but many lack intuition or emotional intelligence. (thus the social ineptitude.)

  6. Gamers lack intuition? I dunno about that... I know a lot of "play by your gut" guys. Also, isn't "emotional intelligence" kind of a... I dunno, loaded term? Just because we've added the word "intelligence" next to something doesn't make it the same thing. Emotional intelligence seems to me more like empathy...
